Richard is a children, youth and family therapist with over 5 years post-Masters experience as a counsellor in government, health-care, and private practice treating anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, conflict, and most other behavioural, emotional, and life issues. Richard is skilled in a variety of therapies, including Mindfulness-informed CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), Play therapy, Parent Management Training, and Emotion-Focused/Emotion-Coaching and Attachment-based therapies.


Richard also has specialized experience working with children and youth with neurodevelopmental differences, including physical/cognitive/adaptive/learning, Autism spectrum, Fetal Alcohol, ADHD, and other complex/concurrent disorders in in-patient residential, school system, and community settings.


Richard takes a science-based, client-centered, and step-by-step skill-building approach, guided by the mindset that it “takes a village” for children to thrive.
